Patience and Wisdom Bring Peace (Prov. Part 1)

( Wisdom from the Book of Proverbs)

I truly love the book of Proverbs. I had a hard time picking one of the many, many topics it speaks to. Finally, I just had to choose one in light of my concern about how folks treat each other so negatively at times. These verses jumped out at me. I will simply let them speak for themselves…………Pamela

".... A patient man calms a quarrel." Prov 15:18

Proverbs 15:18 A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel.

Proverbs 19:19 A hot-tempered man must pay the penalty; if you rescue him, you will have to do it again.

Proverbs 22:24-25 Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared.

Proverbs 29:22 An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one commits many sins.

Proverbs 15:1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Proverbs 21:14 A gift given in secret soothes anger, and a bribe concealed in the cloak pacifies great wrath.

Proverbs 27:4 Anger is cruel and fury overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?

Proverbs 29:8 Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away anger.

Proverbs 29:11 A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control.

Proverbs 30:33 For as churning the milk produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife."
